It’s all about the competition!

So when I asked the eldest sister what she’s been eating for dinner knowing full well that her husband is out of town for the week.  (She has never been the cook, that was always my thing growing up. ) I wasn’t surprised when she told me cereal.

I then told her about my delicious and nutritous dinner menu last night, which was a Jennie-O All white Meat Turkey Loaf.  Alright, for those of you who are not of aware of this dinner option, let me inform you.  It is a great, healthy option when you’re are busy and need something quick for dinner.  My mom would make it for us on those nights we had the theatre practice, dance classes, National Honor Society meeting…k, I was a bit of an overacheiver, but I’ve since calmed down some.

Anyways, you get the point, it was my mom’s not so home-made cooking, and I have fond memories of the turkey loaf.  And even though my older sis was calling it the turkey equivelent of Spam, I find it enjoyable.

Here it is! Usually around $4.99 or so.

This is only a small glimmer into the true nature of our meal comparisons, however.  Let me expand on this…  The conversations are typically  received via emails during our very busy work days; it goes something like this:

Me: OMG, I made the best lunch today, you would be jealous…delicious smoked turkey, cheddar sunchips, 2 chocolate chip cookies and seedless green grapes. – yum

Sister:  Whever my lunch is totally better.  I have sunkist oranges, Diet Coke, ham and swiss, some hershey candy, and lime yogurt.

Me:  Whatever this new turkey meat is the best, my sandwich is totally better.

Sister:  Whatever I have a drink and you don’t.

Me:  So, my sandwich and soft wheat bread beat your gross sandwich.

You can imagine how much detail we get into with this…and some days there is an obvious winner, like when one of us gets lazy and makes the pb&j’s….but my point is it is a competition!  Life is a competition people and you need to bring your A game to it!
